App development for iPhone has reached fever pitch, with 53% of world software developers currently working on iPhone Apps for their products.

They are scrambling to grab a piece of an industry that delivers 16.7 million iPhone app downloads every single day.

There are now more than 600,000 iPhone Apps available, with more flooding the Apple store every day. That’s around twice as many as there are Android Apps, and a fraction of what we can expect in the near future.

Around 30% of these are free, compared to 57% of Android Apps.
